The Certified Personal Trainer course is designed to prepare students for the American Council on Exercise (ACE) Personal Trainer Certification Exam, and for an exciting career improving the health and fitness of others. This course will help students master the necessary information and theories of exercise science for personal training, as well as practical skills and experience for becoming a successful Personal Trainer. Through lecture, demonstration, hands-on practice, and a practicum students will learn the anatomy of the body, exercise physiology, nutritional elements, motivational techniques, and career development for fitness professionals.

Students will gain the knowledge, skills, and abilities to sit for the American Council on Exercise (ACE) Personal Trainer Certification Exam. The ACE Personal Trainer Certification is continually evaluated and updated to ensure that it includes the most current research in exercise science and keeps today’s fitness professionals ahead of the competition. Upon successful completion of the ACE Personal Trainer Certification Exam, you will have demonstrated your knowledge of:

  • Risk factor screening
  • Fitness assessment

  • Exercise programming and progressions
  • Instructional and spotting techniques

  • Professional scope of practice
